On October 21, 2007, The Loudoun Valley Church came out to do a community service project in Blue Ridge Acres. Specifically, they repaired the playground next to the pavilion and installed new playground equipment. A survey of local community needs led them to conclude that there are inadequate recreational facilities for children 'on the mountain' and that there was a local need - they have members who live in Blue Ridge Acres. They also cleared out the overgrowth around the basketball/tennis court and painted the pavilion. A special thanks goes to resident Barbara Vlachas, who suggested our community to the Loudoun Valley Church and to the Church members themselves for providing this wonderful service. |

Postal Station Facelift On November 4 the Postal Station received a new roof and paint job. Art Hanson and Rick Hartman spent 2 weekends putting on a new roof and added a gable. Christal Hanson, Bob Parker and son, Amy Hartman painted the building. Also added was a bulletin board to post upcoming events and club/civic news. |

The start of the neighborhood beautification projects was the re-painting of the entrance signs. Both signs were in very poor condition and if left another year they would have been too rotten to repair. Thanks to Christal and Art Hanson for a great job. Another project was the installation of the split rail fence that lines both sides of Conklin Way. Special Thanks goes to Freya Campbell and husband, Mike Chauncy, James Riner and Art Hanson! This spring during our annual clean up day we hope to do even more. A few things will be some landscaping with planting around the entrance and pavilion, repainting the shuffle board and hope to have the field below the pool cleaned up some more. Hope to see you there to help with the beautification of Blue Ridge Acres. |
