This article is my personal view only.  I've lived in Blue Ridge Acres going on 20 years now, and the one thing that has stayed consistent is the cars that speed in and out of our development.  I will admit that I, too, have been one of these speeding cars, but in recent years, I've been more conscious of my speed and have slowed down.

One of the hazards of speeding cars is, of course, the danger that someone will be hit or an accident with another car would occur.  Please be mindful of your neighbors and slow down.

The other hazards, which most people don't think of, are the condition of the roads.  Speeding cars reek havoc on our roads that WE pay to maintain.  These hazards include:  kicking gravel off the road to the ditches, which in turn clog up our culverts; create a ton of dust, that in some areas is so bad our neighbors cannot sit outside; and, creates the "wash boarding" effect on the gravel roads.  If everyone just slowed down a bit, our roads
would be in much better shape.

Just my two cents worth.    -Kelly Riner
